A Response To Is it possible to get a steady stream of income from sports betting?

1/1/2012 5:10:03 PM by DukeJohn
After skimming through all these posts I didn't see the one thing I do to insure my bills are paid every month via Sports Betting. I simply remove my monthly bills from my bankroll every six months, basically before MLB Season and before the NFL season.

Other posters are correct, I would assume, in that to have a profit every month seems highly unlikely. So, I guess it depends on what time frame a "stream of income" is to you. I keep track of all my bets but they are broken down into Seasons. For Example this...

A Response To Bet Guardian Reduced My Limits but left rollover amount

12/2/2011 10:35:00 PM by DukeJohn
Back then many of us crazy SBR posters were actually getting bonus with x15 rollover from various books. You don't see that too often anymore. I suppose I would still be willing to take that kind of bonus, but I now make sure I do not over extend myself. Since I roughly know about how much I will be beating in a Season, I do not take more bonus than my bank roll can rollover in a season. However, I still have $150K left to rollover at BetPhoenix from a x14 $224K I started nearly 2 years...

Bet Guardian Reduced My Limits but left rollover amount

12/1/2011 8:15:01 PM by DukeJohn
Back in 2009 I deposited with Bet Guardian and received a bonus with a rollover of $74K. Once I got the roll over down to about $50K they reduced my limits some, however, still manageable.

I don't use Bet Guardian too often, since I have been concentrating on other rollovers, but soon I will be betting a lot more there. Anyway, now I am down to $26K left and they cut my limits again. They reduced everything to $100, even the NFL.

When I contacted them via chat I was told:

2011 MLB Picks & Guide to a Winning Season

3/31/2011 8:04:45 PM by DukeJohn
MONEY MANAGEMENT:

All my MLB Free Picks use the following Money Management strategy:
Bankroll divided by 300 = 1 unit
If the line is -200 or higher then divide the unit size by 3
For Example:

Your bankroll was $1500. Your unit size would be $5.

However if the play was NY Yankees -280, then the unit size would be $1.66
HOW TO BET:

All favorites are to win and all dogs are risk. Using the above unit size.

If the pick was NY Yankees -125 then the bet would be $6.25 to win $5.00

If the pick was NY Yankees +160 then the be would be risking $5.00...[/*][/*]
[/*][/*]

A Response To NFL CONTESTS..more sportsbook BS or what?

9/9/2010 12:13:40 PM by DukeJohn
:+clueless

I guess it is just your prespective on this, but all SBR's contest are free to join. I would also add that this is a sports betting forum, so having multiple accounts is just part of the business of making sure you get the best line. Now, if you do not have the funds to fund account, then you don't have to. I know I have several accounts I have only signed up on, but not funded, maybe one day I will. However, if you are just playing the OSGA contests because you know you will...

A Response To Question can someone tell me

9/6/2010 1:18:42 PM by DukeJohn
A parlay is a single bet that links together two or more individual wagers and is dependent on all of those wagers winning together. The benefit of the parlay is that there are much higher payoffs than placing each individual bet separately since the difficulty of hitting it is much higher. If any of the bets in the parlay loses, the entire parlay loses.

The two basic types of IF bets are IF Action and IF Win. Action Reverse falls under the IF Action category. Unlike parlays and straight bets, there is no need to re-invest the total money won by...

A Response To northbet $100 freeplay

8/27/2010 11:08:41 PM by DukeJohn
If a company is not listed on SBR and wants you to deposit, no matter how big the freeplay, just don't do it. If they offered you a $1000 freeplay for a $100 deposit you would automatically say, these guys are just trying to get my $100. Just don't do it. If they really wanted you to try them out, they would have given you a $100 freeplay without a deposit. As a simple marketing tool giving a $100 freeplay with a limit payout of $250 or so is a great way to get people to...

For those that missed the ABC Island issue

For those that missed the latest ABCisland issue as reported by SBR. Here it is:
8/21/2010 11:44 AM
abc Islands player reports partial payments
An abc Islands (SBR rating C) player with a total balance of $16,000 reports receiving partial payments. After discussing his account status last Friday with the sportsbook and being informed he could not be sent a $5,000 payment at once, he agreed to accept partial payments of $500 a day via WU. abc Islands sent the player $500 4 days in a row with a fee of $69 per transaction. The Jazz Sportsbook Group was downgraded to C...
A Response To Sportsinteraction.com Beware of this site

8/22/2010 11:23:42 PM by DukeJohn
Ah, well, that makes sense then. In my days of dealing with retail merchant accounts there were no prepaid cards, although they certainly were around when I owned a bar, but I would open the tab with a $25 charge and then adjust the charge at the end of night, which in theory would void the original charge. Now that I think about it the bank cards always kept the first charge and the adjusted charge active. Meaning I would get calls from people saying we double charged them. Yes, I remember now, I would always...

A Response To If you HAD to move to Texas...Where would you live and why?

8/18/2010 8:26:15 PM by DukeJohn
First off, as for El Paso... I was there a while back and the people would refer to it as the arm pit of America. Not exactly sure what they meant by that, but this city should be far down your list.

The Dallas Metroplex area is in a great location to travel elsewhere, but wouldn't be my choice.

Houston, well, it is close to the water, but keep in mind this is East Texas and on the coast at that. The rain fall for some reason is quite often. Just moving a little south of it and you...

I think I did try and leave a negative review at the Handicapping Police, I can't remember though, it was a long time ago. I would however, suggest writing about your experience on the forum. I personally have received a few PMs thanking me for posting my experience and saving people from making a terrible mistake. So, write about it so others who are searching the internet can have more information at their disposal before they make a horrible mistake...

I have been searching the past posts about the handicapping police and you seem to be the only one with any real experince with them. I was wondering if you even atempted to write a bad review on their site about Alex Myers. I have tried to write a bad review and it never got posted,I was wondering if the same happened to you. The only reviews of Alex Meyers are goood ones ,we need to change this.
